Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Getting HD on my SONY PVM-14L5 Monitor

    I would think so…but I am not positive. I just know it is the case of my PVM-14L5. Even Flanders Scientific monitors are 8-bit. JVC, Sony, Panasonic…won’t find 10-bit unless you get up there in price.

    Yep, the key with the LCD panels is to ensure you have true 10bit processing in the electronics. Until you get up about $10,000 or so, the panels themselves are 8bit. Only a few applications where you truly need 10bit displays and an editing suite is not one of them unless you have the budget to spend on them.

    Forgot to ask,

    I edit mostly 30p and 60p footage,
    will either the Intensity Pro, or MXO2 output progressive to my crt monitor?

    Yes. Any capture card will.
