    Hello all,
My client sent me the footage via his Google drive. I am going to convert it back to .mov file. My question is – will I loose the quality comparing to the workflow when I logging directly from the camera?
Thank you very much in advance

Well…what did they do in order to upload it and get it to you? How did they ingest the footage? And then did they compress it further in order to upload? If they did compress further, then the quality will not be the same as directly from the camera. And you might need to compress again to ProRes if it’s in a format like MP4 or H.264 QT…because FCP doesn’t work with these formats.

Shane has a really good point. If they aren’t sending you the files from the camera but have further compressed them to upload to Google drive, you might not have good quality to start with. If they did that, you might ant to tell them to mail you a thumb drive with the contents of the camera card so that you can ingest the full quality that they shot.
