  • Getting an error when importing .dpx files

Posted by Manny Vazquez on October 6, 2007 at 4:44 am

I am using After Effects 7 Professional and went to import some shots that are in .dpx format. I am getting an error message saying that the files cannot be read as “Cineon FIDO or SMPTE DPX”. I’m not sure if it would have something to do with the file format plugins or if there is a codec I need to get or what. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hmmm. DPX files should normally import fine into AE. I think the dpx files might be corrupt. Try changing the extension from dpx to cin. See if that works.
