  • Getting a particle to follow a path EXACTLY

Hey guys, this one’s been done already but in reverse. Many people want to know how to make a particle stray from a path just slightly and I’ve tried to reverse the answer to accomplish my task but no dice. I need a particle to precisely follow a path. Here are some things I’ve done…

    1) Adjust the point velocity
    2) place emitter RIGHT/immediatley before and in front of the first point of the path to follow
    3) Make emitter a diameter of .001 or whatever the smallest can be
    4) Make sure there’s no DOF/angle on the emitter so it shoots straight
    5) adjust the speed

The thing is, I need the particles to go relatively quick and noticed that the particle will follow more (not totally though) precisely if the speed is lowered. How can I get maintain preciseness and still maintain speed? Have I missed anything? Would baking the particles help with a higher sample per frame?

    Thanks!
    Brian
