  • Getting a layer’s children?

Posted by Ben Rollason on August 27, 2010 at 9:17 am

    Hi All,

You can read a layer’s parent with this.parent, but can you also read a parent’s children in some way. Is there an array that contains this information? It would be very useful for cycling through just a subset of a composition’s layers.

    Thanks if you can help.

    Ben.

No, you’d have to do it yourself by looping through all the layers, looking for those that had a particular layer as a parent.

    Ah… that’s a shame. That’s exactly what I was trying to avoi, by using the non-existent thisLayer.children! 🙁

Thanks for the confirmation, though Dan.
