Getting 4:3 DV footage to 16:9
Hi,
We have a client that would like to take an existing 4:3 DV spot, and run it in a theater before a movie. The theater has requested that the spot be in the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Is it just a simple matter of creating a 16:9 matte and adjusting the graphics to fit within that matte, or does it involve creating a new widescreen AE comp?
Any help is appreciated.
As much as I hate to contribute to commercials before movies, I figure I should probably do this right. At least I can learn something new.

Ohhh,this has been discussed a lot but here we go.
Make a DV widescreen comp (preset) and drag the footage into it. Use the fit to width command (ctrl-alt-shift-H) so your footage fits the width of the comp. The top and bottom will be cut off.
