    I am trying to get vid/aud 25mps from a 1200a via firewire into FCP 5.1.4 I have Machine control but no video input in FCP. I see it on the monitor out but log and capture sees no signal.

    Am I missing a setting for vid out on the 1200?
    Is their a setting in FCP?

    Works like a champ with 1200a outputting DVCPRO HD 100 mps, but I have some old archive…Mini DV…I need to input into project.

    Ideas or suggestions are appreciated as much the key solution.

    You need to go into the menus of the 1200 and set dif outs to dv.

    I can’t remember the menu numbers, but it works. It will not automatically just send dv out of the firewire until you tell the deck to do so.

    Jeremy,
    I thought it would likely be the deck.
    None of the settings jump out as to where except the 894 895 and 896. They seem to determine DVI out but had no impact when I reset 25m dif out to DV.

    Does Panny hav any sort of tech support bog or phone?

    Disconnect the 1200 from your computer and make these changes.

    You want the #896menu > 25M difout to DV (not DVCPRo)

    Also. #022 PB FORMAT -> 0000 Manual

    #023 FORMAT SEL -> 0005 or 0006 (dv or dvcam).

    Save the settings. Powercycle the deck. Launch FCP and choose a dv easy setup.

    Also, take the tape out of the deck, then make the menu changes.
