  • get sound in Source but not Sequence window

I just imported an XML from FCP7 and my sequence has no sound even if i can see the waveform on the audio tracks. If i play the clip from the Source window by double clicking it from the sequence then i get sound. Any idea ???

I’m using a MBP with IO XT and Pegasus R4. Thanks

Check each of the following parameters:

Track mute in the Program panel
Volume setting in the Effect Controls panel for the clip
Audio Gain… under the menu item Clip > Audio Options (or right click the clip)
Track mute in the Audio Mixer panel
Track audio level in the Audio Mixer panel
Master audio level in the Audio Mixer panel

You can also look at the audio output settings in your audio prefs to make sure that the ioXT is set as the audio output also check your output mapping. It also could be just an incompatibility between the source audio sample rate and the sequence’s sample rate.

Can you hear the audio from the sequence when the settings are set to computer audio only?

How many channels of audio did the original fcp sequence have?

Occasionally when opening an XML for the first time from FCP in Premiere CS6 I notice the volume in the sequence is at -∞. I can hear it in the Source monitor, but not in the Sequence. Dragging up the volume to 0.0 db usually does the trick. If you have keyframes set there might be additional problems.

Alright i found the problem this is definitely a CS6 bug….but how can i fix this ….basically, the volume on each clip is at -infinity…therefore i need to raise the volume…the only problem is that i have thousands of clips as this is a 120 min doc with tons of edits!!!!
