Posted by Dan Riley on March 16, 2006 at 11:36 pm

I have a client that wants to use this style of effect to put,
for instance, “a jar of spaghetti sauce from a grocery
store isle into a shopping cart” kind of thing. There would be
many items going into the cart this way.

Does anyone know of a plug in for FCP or maybe I could do this
with Motion or none of these?
Of course it can be done just with DVE but that won’t really be
the genie effect per say. Any ideas would be welcome.
Of course I could have it done on the Flame at the post
house we use for animation etc., but I wanted to see if I could
    pull it off myself.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Why not?

The DVE in FCP doesn’t do an effect where something is being shoved
into a bottle, you know, squeezed at the end, does it?

[Danrnw] “…squeezed at the end, does it?”

    Sure.

Use the “Distort” controls in the Motion Tab.
