I generated a flat polygon structure for the hair, but now I want to go back to the regular hair (basically, undo the generation of polygons). Since I had saved the file I can’t use undo. Is there any way to go back. I’m afraid to start a new hair object because I would lose all my settings and brushing. Suggestions?

You should be able to just select “None” for the Generate type to return to regular hair.

I tried that, but all the hair disappeared when I rendered.

I rarely use hair, but with just a quick test it seemed like I could switch back and forth between the generators. I’ll have to play around with it some more. Could you post your project?

Hmmm. I tried a test render of a simple scene (sphere with hair) and it worked to use “none”. Not sure why it wouldn’t with the more complex scene. I thought “none” was the right answer, so I’m glad to see this working on a simple model. Gives me hope. Thanks.

That’s encouraging. Let us know if you’re able to get your complex scene working.
