    All DSLRS have have image settings that I’ve generally ignored because in still photography they don’t affect the RAW image. These include:

    White Balance
    Picture Mode (Normal, Potrait, Vivid, Muted etc.)
    Contrast
    Saturation
    Noise filtration/noise reduction
    Sharpening

    I’ve already learned that sharpening should be turned down as much as possible. How about the others…is there a rule of thumb that you use as a starting point that allows for easy post processing?

    You should Google HD DSLR gurus like Vincent Laforet and Shane Hurlbut to get specific setting ideas – Vincent has published his camera “formula” for more cinematic video several times – here’s a link to a video to get you started but there are many more resources to be found via Google

    Thank you. That was helfpful, but the video didn’t go into a lot detail. Any other info would appreciated it.

    is it the same for the 60D as well?
