I beg your pardon because i know this question might not specifically be a AUDITION question, but iam in search of a general help in case someone knows. Ok iam planning to use audition to record some personal songs, well at least some drafts before i could pay for real performers to release the final songs. Ok, here goes my question:

    – Is a rap song a matter or karaokeing over a beat, or is it creating a beat over a lyric?

    Thanks for your help

In building any tune in recording you lay down the foundation and build from there … In the composing process things kind of fall under “was it the chicken or the egg that came first” theroy … I have done both but usually I create the music and melody line then the lyric … With rap the cadence of the lyric is always the same or at least it appears this way to me so I guess it doesn’t really matter ……… WILLIE
