General Ingest/Logging doubts for large amount of footage !
Ok I’m a beginner..and I know Media Management is one of the most important things in order to work in an organised/efficient manner.
Though this is in the Premiere Pro forum,it applies to all NLEs :So lets say you have to edit a project with a large number of video clips ..Let’s say there are around 200 video clips in the SD card of the camera .
So this is what I would do :
1. Once I’ve put the SD card into my laptop , I open my NLE (I use PP)
2. Then I open a new project.
3.I will then import ALL of the contents/video clips from the SD card into PP.
4.Then I will click on EACH INDIVIDUAL CLIP ,and see what’s the content, and I will open a NEW BIN and send all the clips that I actually think I will use ,after going through the entire list of video clips.
5.Now in the new bin that Ive made with the clips that Ive decided to use, I will rename each clip /add some description for EACH clip such as ‘ Girl sitting in park- ls’ ,etc to help me easily identify what are the contents of the clip.
I will do this for ALL of the clips in my New Bin6.Now that this laborious process is done. I can finally start editing.
So obviously,it’s clear that I’m a beginner ,haha.
So Experts/Professionals PLEASE tell me how you work /manage media .
(I don’t know much about shot-logs)Any advice will be much appreciated !
Thanks !
