  • General Error when trying to adjust filter settings in Viewer

Posted by Andy Hutchinson on April 16, 2005 at 2:17 am

I have added a filter (happens to all the filters) to a 6 second clip on the timeline and when I try to adjust one of the adjustments I get a message in a window saying “General Error” without any numbers. I click on OK and close the window and the Viewer turns red and says “Display unavailable. Close and reopen window to restore”.

It has happened with four point garbage matte, soft edges, with the Nattress filters, everything. The filter is applied, it is just that I am unable to adjust it.

I am trying to finish up a project that I have been working on for three weeks and this happens right at the end. I have repaired Permissions, closed the project and saved with a new name and shutdown and restarted but it continues to do the same thing.

I did a search but it seems that the General Errors others get has a number along with the message.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

I copied the contents of the sequence and pasted them into a new sequence and everything seems stable now. Maybe a corrupt sequence??
