General Error when exporting
hi there,
I am trying to export my sequence using quicktime conversion since I need to output it to a PC based studio. I have tried to export from the actual sequence and from a Final Cut movie file I made to create CD’s. Same problem: after a while fails and gives the message “General Error”
I am using FCP pro 6 running on Mac Book Pro (last version) 2.5 Ghz Intel Core Duo; 4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
Since I can’t also print to tape (image freezes in some sections) I don’t know what else to do.
Your help would be greatly appreciated

Try exporting a file with out quicktime conversion, just keep it the same settings as the time line. If it fails there then it could be that you are dealing with some bad/corrupt media.

That is what I am trying to do byut I don’t know which export shall I do in order to have it read on a PC system.
Now I am trying using compressor. But most of the .mov I get the PC does not read…

That is NOT what you said you were doing. You said

Select export quicktime movie NOT QuickTime Conversion.

so if i do not use the quicktime conversion to export what shall use in order to get a quality file able to be read by a PC system?

if you can get a good file that way then bring it use compressor, or pull it back into FCP and see if you can lay that back to tape.
