When you daisy chain two Genelec speakers through XLR, do both of them give you mono, or do they somehow separate the L/R channels?

That set up would most likely give you a mono feed to both. The XLR is designed primarily for a balanced feed, not left and right as with some consumer audio. You’d feed each Genelec with a cable from your mixer – one for each channel, however many channels you have.

I’m surprised they would market the daisy-chain feature. I can’t imagine many situations where you’d want the same audio coming out of each speaker. Unless in a multi-room setup, you’d connect all the L and all the R speakers with the XLRs.
