Hey peter
it is my understanding that is a restriction only when formatted as FAT32, and that is a FAT 32 issue.
My unit is formated as HFS+ and I have well over 1500 files on mine. (I am testing the DPX -2K workflow)

Thanks Gary,

Through a colleague I heard of a post house that has hit this problem, along with constant crashes.

Interesting as terrablock was a suggested solution before we went Xsan at Molinare.
