    hi everybody
    I was wondering how can I know how many GB does an hour of digitized media would take in 25P 420
    … According to my calculation its 13.3 GB … could it be !!!!!
    does that depends on the HD ? can one have a list of how much GB per hour for each resolution ?

    please help … I need to give an answer to my boss how many HDs I need and I really cant give him an answer

    sorry if i wasnt clear but i didnt mean HD,
    i’m digitizing DV25

    The rule of thumb is roughly 5-mins per GB for DV25 and this includes 25P. The hard drive used makes no difference except for it’s ability to sustain sufficient trabsfer rates, which almost all modern drives can easily cope with.

    HDV uses the same drive space per minute as DV25, the difference being that HDV is an MPEG2 compressed signal, which enables the data rate to be reduced to that of standard DV hence the ability to record on standard DV tape.
