    I am planning on getting a new hd camera and would like to know what is the pro’s and con’s of the ag-hvx200 and the sony pmwex1 camera.

    It’s actually Adcock anyways while Gary comes around I’ll take a crack at it. These are actually quite similar in specs. The HVX200 has the advantage of being on the market quite a bit longer so they are easily found at a discount and the workflows are quite mature. Then there’s also the idea of DVCPROHD 100 Mbit compression vs. 35 Mbit long-gop XDCAM EX. That said, the EX1 is a worthy competitor in the image and feature department. It is clearly designed to take the HVX200 head-on. So this is not an easy choice to make.
