I did find this about a painter named Gary Adcock born in 1950. I’m thinking this might be him, looks like he’s in Italy now.

I apologize if you are continuing to receive emails from regarding your question about a Gary Adcock painting. I was not certain if this message was getting to you. I realize there is a Gary Adcock that is a painter listed with the Florence art gallery, but your ties to Dallas might be the connection to the Gary Adcock that I have mentioned.

If you have not received my previous emails, Gary Adcock was born in Wichita Fall, TX attended ACU, Abilene Christian University. Died in Dallas in the Mid 1980’s

Born: Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas
Died: Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas 1-11-1998
1961: Graduated with B.A.degree from Abilene Christian College where he was listed in “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
1969-1970’s: He had a studio/gallery in Dallas, TX in late sixties and early seventies.
Adcock was a Member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society, Texas Fine Arts Association, and Dallas Artists and Craftsmen Association.

He exhibited in numerous venues in New Mexico/Texas/Oklahoma including the following:

1968: Texas Fine Arts Association Spring Juried Show — Austin – won purchase prize at Laguna Gloria Museum

1968: 10th Annual Eight State Juried Show — Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma Art Center

Thanks! I can’t believe this thread is still out there, but I really appreciate the information. I will keep it with the painting for future owners. Then we will avoid the confusion with all the other Gary Adcocks. thanks again.

My family is long-time friends with the Adcock family to which Gary (the painter) belongs. My family has many of Gary’s paintings, mostly landscape paintings of the American southwest. I currently have a beautiful 5’x4′ Gary Adcock painting in my house. It is one of his abstract pieces from his “Reflections” series. My parents spent many hours at the hospital with him as he was dying. His mother, who was also a painter, recently passed away in Wichita Falls.
