I’m having problems clicking on my clip in the canvas and setting the points of the garbage matte, the place where I click bears no correlation to the position set for the edge of the matte. I can set each point numerically although this seems to defeat the idea of being able to click on the canvas to set the position of the corners of the matte.

I am clicking on the ‘+’ button then clicking on the corner position I want to set as the edge of the matte. The edge of the matte then gets set way inside this position.

I guess this is a basic issue but are there any settings, prefs or missing technique that might be affecting this?

    Thanks,
    Alan

Did you scale, rotate, reposition the image in any way? It’s always best to do garbage mattes to image at full size and resolution before applying motion effects. The garbage point mattes are based on the image in relation to the canvas and have no bearing on its current position, size or orientation.
