Recently started fiddling with PPRO CS3 and seem to be have a problem with x point garbage mattes behving weirdly. When I move the points around they don’t cut off where the lines are, but seem to cut the clip a random distance away with (obviously) odd results.

I’ve looked to see if there’s a setting I’m missing but haven’t found one, anyone know what might be going wrong?

Are you working with an Anamorphic 16×9 project/footage? That will behave like a 4×3 image (which it actually is) any serious garbage matting should be done in AE.

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

If you do not want to animate the garbage matte make your mask in the titler and use it for the track matte effect on the clip. You can even give it a fast blur to feather out the edges.
