Hey, Ive been having a problem with the Premiere Pro Garbage Mattes.
I don’t know if its a bug, or if its just my program, but theres a problem with the garbage mattes where the clip needs to be rendered in order to see the results properly.
It makes working with mattes hell whenever you move a corner, the entire thing has to be rendered since the higher layer partially or completely disappears, and you cannot see the result of your matte without rendering first – EVERY single time.
Anyone else have this problem, or know any solutions or patches perhaps?
    Thanks for your time!

I’m having the same problem. It’s very glitchy. I do not have to render, however, to preview the effect. Simply clicking off the matte and onto another effect works (most of the times), but when I play it from the timeline, I can see the effect properly.

However, very difficult to work with as sometimes the matte “preview” blacks everything out and you can’t see what you’re masking.

Did you make any headway with this issue?

    Peace,
    Bud
