Gamma shift when importing Prores in Adobe After Effects 6.0
Hi,
I was searching on the net about this one, but can only find old issues wait gamma and prores in old versions of AE, so I hope someone can give me a hint about this one.I am trying to import Prores HQ file (that was color corrected in Rec709) and export it to a j2c sequence in DCDM X’Y’Z (gamma 2.6) 5900K by using Fnord plugin for j2c sequence.
The results are too bright and the colors wached out.
I am comparing to the results to what I get with EasyDCP creator and to the results I get with OpenDCP conversion of tiffs that I exported from Quicktime 7.- I am using After Effects 6.0 (11.0.0.378) on Osx 10.7.5.
- The file I am trying to import is probably made with Final cut pro.
- In the interpret footage settings the Prores HQ file has an embedded profile: HDTV (Rec. 709) Y’CbCr and I cannot change that (it’s grayed out). I am puzzled about this, because when I am exporting from AE to Prores HQ it says this format cannot have embedded profile.
I hope someone knows what might be the problem.
Thanks,
P
