  • Gamma different when opening with Quicktime Pro and Double Clicking On Quicktime Video to Open

    Hi,

I am having a problem with the “Quicktime Gamma Bug”. When I create an H.264 Quicktime in compressor from a ProRes 4444 Rec 709 output from Avid, I get two different behaviours from the resulting quicktime. When I double click the icon for the video, the gamma is shifted and the image appears washed out in the blacks. However, when I right click on the video and go “open with Quicktime”, the image appears as I want it to. How do I make it so it will appear the same way for someone double clicking on the icon?
