Game Changer Alert: The New Frame Rate Conversion Tool coming from Adobe
At the LACPUG meeting Wednesday evening, Adobe’s Al Mooney divulged Frame Rate Conversion using Optical Flow Technology – a coming feature we’ll be getting in the next release of Premiere.
for those of you who don’t know, Optical Flow samples pixels from frames before and after the current frame, calculating where intermediate pixels might be, creating extremely smooth motion in between.
According to Al, this is the real deal, with Teranex-like quality, but built-in, just for us lucky CC subscribers. Imagine being able to move between NTSC and PAL footage seamlessly with no concern for quality loss or image degradation. WOW!!!
It certainly sounds like a terrific innovation that’s on its way…
