    Hi everyone.
I just got a MacPro and want to start upgrading one of my systems (G5 dual 2.0).

I bought a Kona LHe and have CalDigit drives with the FASTA 4 eSATA card.

New machine: MacPro Octo 3.0, 4GB Ram, 3 X 1 TB internal storage, 512MB nividia gfx. (should be fun)

Anything I should be aware of? any gotchas?
I know the AJA card should go in slot 2. And suggestions for the storage card?

Whatever valuable info is appreciated. Right now I’ll assume downloading all of the latest drivers for MacPro and 10.5.5 is the way to go.

Duh!!! already put it in 3. I’ll test it out and let you know. Still installing software.
One thing I noticed is the Express Bus Utility isn’t needed for the new MacPro’s.
I remember a bunch of posts last year that mentioned configuring the speed of each bus…or something like that. No longer an issue now.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Be sure to take a look at this for the PCI slots: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT2838

Kona in slot 2, storage in slot 4

    You’re OK with slot 3.
Got this from AJA when I asked support
about where to install my SATA card and the Kona 3.
(I have the same Mac Pro as you.)

“Which generation macpro do you have?
Go to: about this mac/more info/system identifier.
If you have a type 3,1 you will be OK.
Put the Kona card in slot 3 (X4) and your raid card in slot 2 (X16)
If you have a type 2,1 your raid card will have to go in slot 4 (X4) and the Kona in slot 3.”

Sorry, you got a KONA LHe, I thought it was a
    KONA 3. Ignore my post.
