G4 with Final Cut Pro HD but no audio or video
Just inherited a G4 from my graphics dept. I hooked a vtr to it via firewire but the G4 doesn’t detect it. In the capture window, I have control of the vtr. I can see the timecode update, but it still says external source not detected. Setting are correct. DV NTSC 48K. Deck and firewire are good because I use them with my powerbook.
Any suggestions?

Trash your preferences. Reboot with the deck turned on and connected. Relaunch the application.
Did you do any upgrades recently?
