G4 doesn’t see FireWire drive
I recently bought a LaCie FireWire drive and had my edit partner archive several projects to it from his G4. His system recognized the drive immediately (he uses Final Cut 5). When attempting to access the drive and its files, my G4 (dual 1.42Gb, 1Gb RAM, OSX 10.2.8, Final Cut 4.1) does not see it. My new MacBook Pro does see the drive and plays back its files, but I need my Final Cut Pro – dedicated G4 to access the drive and edit the files.
My G4 system meets the drive requirements. I’ve tried all the obvious solutions, like changing to a different FireWire port, rebooting, etc.
Can someone help?
