  • G-Speed Q failure – possible workaround?

Posted by Todd Fletcher on November 4, 2013 at 3:19 pm

So I have several G-Speed Q’s and one stopped working this weekend. The red light flashes when I start it out and it won’t mount. However all the modules are still blue lights.

I was wondering. If I up all the modules in my other G-Speed Q (maintaining same position of each drive) should I theoretically be able to access those drive again?

I plan to ask G-Speed tech support but we are an our before their support lines are open.

    Thanks in advance!!

Yes, if it`s exactly the same G-speed it should work. By the way, if it works, you know that it is not the drives, but some other piece of G-tech hardware. My guess is: it`s the controller. If it is the controller you can throw it away, or you persuade G-tech to get a replacement.

    cheers

UPDATE: I ran Disk Warrior on it, and it rebuilt the tables – now it works great. Much better outcome then I was fearing.

    Thanks for the reply!
