  • FxFactory v5.0.8 just broke FCPX

I installed the latest FXFactory update, and can’t launch FCPX.

The Crash reporter points to the flagrant file, which I moved to the desktop, and then FCPX will launch.

I only tried this on one machine, and didn’t want to chance it with others, so I am not sure if this is an isolated incident or not.

    Be careful out there.

Same here. Just updated and now I can’t open Final Cut. Trying to roll back to 5.0.7 now.

I am back up and running after rolling back to 5.0.7. Then I got this response from FX Factory.

    Hi Chad,

Sorry for the trouble. We have fixed the bug, please re-install FxFactory from here:

Let me know if I can be of further assistance, if indeed this was helpful, or if this raises any other questions.

    Regards,

I think I will wait a day or two before upgrading again… just in case. 🙂

Great response time from Noise Industries.

Wow. I just dodged this bullet. I set up a new machine this morning – installing both FCPX and FxFactory – and they must have fixed the issue before I installed it!
