Need help finding plugin that is being used A LOT these days – A flash/flare on person in the frame only, while the background is uneffected. The look is similar to the Eureka plugin “Vapor”, except that Vapor effects entire frame, and no way to isolate to a specific object.

Is this a plugin? I see it on everything from Letterman, to Access Hollywood, to Movie Trailers.

The person in the FG is probably rotoscoped out & then the transition is applied only to them.

Rotoscoping subject in FG, then applying flash filter is what I figured. To be honest, I’ve never rotoscoped – what program would be the quickest or most intuitive solution? Is there a dedicated roto-only program?

Silhouette Roto is probably the best roto program available right now. There’s a demo available for download. If you have Shake, AE or Motion, you can do quite a lot of roto in any of them, as well.
