FX Plugs not working
hey guys, hope all is well…
having a problem with my FX Plug filters in FCP 5. weird effects like Kaleidoscope and Tiling are coming up “Effect Kaleidoscope Failed to Render” in my clip monitor as soon as i apply the effect and no render attempts have been made. they were working and rendering yesterday and now all of a sudden i can’t get anything out of them. tried restarting, etc and still no dice. any thoughts? thanks in advance

What’s the computer? What version of the software? How much RAM? What format are you working in? How full is your system drive?

FX Plugins can make your life easier if you have a good video Card, if not they can complicate things.
When I try to render any FXPlugin in 1080 at 10b, my computer tells me that my GPU is not enough to process all that.
Those plugins can be rendered in the CPU if the manufacturer add the option in the interface, as its happens with the first Magic Bullet versions.

FxPlugs work best in FCP6, apparently. But if they were working yesterday, something has changed on your rig and only you might know what it is. Did you add a display to your system?
The issue comes up mnthly here and on other FCP forums. Search here first and you can use google to find many off-the-cow references. The possible solutions are as weird as the circumstances.
