fuzzy graphics
whenever i lay a graphic (premiere title or photoshop file) onto the timeline to overlay a piece of video, the graphic will get this fuzzy edge (like its not in focus, or the right resolution?). All i want is nice pretty graphics…not outdated amature software graphics. I noticed that our other system does not have the same problem. Im not sure what is causing the problem so any assitance is appreciated. video card, software setting, repair?

Is it possible that you are judging quality using the Premiere program monitor window? If so, be aware that this does not do full justice to interlaced video. It is best to judge quality, colour etc using an external TV rather than the Premiere quick-look interface when editing for video output.
Another possible issue is the image size of your overlay. If its native size is smaller than the size in pixels used to display the image on video, then pixelation (fuzziness) is to be expected.

Are you saying it is “fuzzy” from an exported movie file, or from the preview/program monitor in Premiere Pro from the timeline? If the second, you may be viewing you program monitor in a draft mode and not seeing the true resolution of your graphic.
Also, are you rendering at all? Real-time previews will give you a preview a good portion of the time, but often the quality isn’t 100%, especially if the graphic is not rendered.

im sorry i wasnt specific enough. i am watching these rendered movies on an external NTSC monitor. The graphics are not crisp and clean though, they have this fuzziness to them. i make a graphic in photoshop thats 720×486, and it sill has fuzz. even when i make a graphic in the titler it comes out distorted. like i said, we have a second system that has no problmes, is there something i could compare with the two to try and make corrections?

Forgive me if I cover old ground with you.
Since you are in NTSC, is it possible that your overlays are too white or too black?
NTSC safe colours range from around 16 to 235 rather than 0-255 due to the encoding technique used. No such issue with PAL. See Broadcast Colors in the Premiere on-line help.
Fine detail is also affected by the interlaced reproduction on a TV. Best to avoid small, fussy fonts and graphics with fine horizontal lines.
Looking at small graphics on the computer screen is always likely to give crisper visuals than an interlaced video on a larger TV.
