Fusion 9 at EOL ???
Last Fusion update was July 2018 during which time Resolve seems to have had more than 6 major and minor updates. So be sure, in 6-12 months–as BlackMagic says–Resolve will more fully incorporate Fusion. Fusion seems to be EOL but Resolve/Fusion is still a work in progress.
During this time there have been excellent and encouraging Fusion tutorials by Simon Ubsdell and others, especially as they provide invaluable information about alphas and expressions. So well appreciated.
But for now, what other compositing-capable app (suitable for serious but non-professional users) is available until Resolve/Fusion is ready???
Nuke has a limited non-commercial version but surely has “gotchas” to be discovered. Non-free seems to start at over $4,000.
Frankly, Resolve/Fusion fully implemented would be worth IMHO twice the current $300 Studio price. If it really worked.
Maybe some day.

Would hope not. They are 2 different markets. and with stand alone you get network rendering integration with Avid.There are many compositors that would have no use for the full resolve I am on Resolve and it works fine.

Probably not, as they have publicly stated that the standalone version will continue.
But, it’s certainly not a priority. It get little to no mid-release support. Last update for Fusion 9 was, what… almost 2 years ago?
The priority seems to be moving as much functionality into Resolve as humanly possible, as quickly as possible, so that they can get to a point where they can realistically end it and not have to focus on two tools 🙂

Given that a new version was released it looks like standalone is safe for now.
