Just thought of a new signature. FCP X ain’t a toy like iMovie you know. She means business.

Well, the problem with that is that iMovie and FCP X are the same program with different UI’s now. Different features enabled/disabled, but the same code rune them both. 🙂

Fortunately the iMovie & “toy” comments don’t appear on here any more, although I still hear them from some Editors I talk to, usually people who haven’t even looked at it!

Cant stop people from making their own stupid take on the whole FCPX thing.
I can honestly only talk about FCPX to people that know how to use it.
Any time some one near me makes a comment first thing I ask is if they know how to use it.
There is a difference between knowing and tinkering.

[Robin S. Kurz] ” Pointing, once again, to X’s superior speed.”

That was a very impressive demo. Thanks for posting.

About a month ago there was a very long thread (disclaimer – started by me) with the title “What is Editing Speed?” that you might be interested in.

I wonder what Aindreas thinks of this. Should be an interesting and worthy post to read.

Not about to go through a 211 post thread, but thanks. And I know that export is not relevant to you in terms of “editing speed”. But then, yes, it’s much more something like THIS for me, too (along side a loooong list of other things):

In which case I’d say FCP 7 in that example is interchangeable with pretty much any other (track-based) NLE out there.

    To each his own (speed)!

Oh… and I also say that simply being able to PLAY the project is quite the speed-plus. Especially for editing, don’t you think?
