Full vs Auto Best
Posted by Gary & yvonne on July 5, 2006 at 8:19 amI guess i’ve been messing up. I read where you said you should use Full Best when taking pictures off a clip. I’ve been using Auto Best. What have I been missing by doing this?

July 5, 2006 at 1:11 pmYour pictures will be whatever size the preview screen is (typically half size) instead of the full size. If your preview window is set to full size, it would make no difference. Typically, this is NOT the case as most preview screens are smaller than full size. So… bottom line is that you’re probably getting a lower res image than necessary.

July 5, 2006 at 8:47 pmHaving now my montage with AUTO BEST will it effect playing it on a regular tv screen as far as covering the whole screen? There’s probley not a way to change all the pictures from AUTO BEST to FULL BEST without having to rescan all of them individually off the clip?

July 5, 2006 at 9:13 pmThis ONLY affects snapshots taken from the timeline. It does NOT affect photo montages made by placing photos ONTO the timeline.
So, for example, if you take a snapshot of a frame for printing on the DVD cover – this setting would affect the quality of the image. If you have already taken the snapshot at the lower resolution, the only solution is to take it again at the higher resolution.
