I am not sure if this is the right forum to post to, so apologies if I am in the wrong place!

I have a VOB file that I am desperately trying to upload to an FTP address. I am based in Egypt and internet is running at camel speed – they don’t hurry in the heat!

The file is about 1GB. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I might compress or zip the file to reduce the size while still maintaining the quality. I no longer have the original FCP project or media – all I have left is the .img file.

    Thank you!

    You can’t

By Zipping it, you are likely to increase the file size not reduce it.

If you want to get the VOB smaller you’ll need to transcode it, and that will reduce the quality.
