FS 100 some corrupted files that wont convert to quicktimes
I have just shot a corporate in Texas on the Fire Store 100. Most of the clips/files will convert in FCP to quicktimes. But for some unknown reason there are 8 that won’t. We can see the pictures run in the preview but they wont convert. Information below from the Editor/Director:
This is what we are doing:
Connect the hard drive you brought back from the USA to the computer via a Firewire 800 lead.
Open a new project in Final Cut Pro and set it at ‘DVCPRO HD – 720p24’
Under ‘File’ in the top menu bar go down to Log and Transfer… and open it up
Now open up the hard-drive you brought back from America (Mine’s got the name ‘New Volume’)
There should be a folder called ‘FS 2 (Day 1)
Drag this whole folder into the left top hand window of the ‘Log and transfer’ window
A list of the clips in this folder (with thumbnails) should appear in this window
Now drag the following clips – one by one – into the bottom window (where it says ‘drag media here’)0245ZJ
0246VJ
0248XJ
0250OJ (it might say ‘incomplete’ in grey letters after this)
0251NJ (it might say ‘incomplete’ in grey letters after this)
0258CJ
0260KJ (it might say ‘incomplete’ in grey letters after this)
0261PJ (it might say ‘incomplete’ in grey letters after this)
0265CJIf these clips are going to work (and transfer to FCP) you’ll see a spinning grey wheel in ‘Status’ and a grey progress bar – this means the clips are being transferred to the Final Cut Pro project. However on my system a red exclamation mark comes up under ‘Status’. If this happens to you too we’ll need to go to an expert. The clips ‘play’ in the top right hand window of the ‘Log and transfer’ window – so they’re ‘on there’ – I just can’t get them into my project.
Let me know what happens,
Ta, SvenPlease advise on what i can try or if there is a specialist in London UK who could help.
Many thanks
