  Frustrating Video Plug-ins Issue

  I’m running the latest build of Vegas 18 and infrequently, when I go to open the program, it hangs on “Creating video plug-in factory…” before crashing with the standard “Vegas was unable to open…” screen. The only way to get it to run is to migrate my plug-ins out of their respective folders, load Vegas with no plug-ins available, shut it down, migrate them back to their appropriate locations and try again, where it usually loads.

  I can understand how adding something new or some such might cause the issue, but I literally just closed a project, decided to make a tweak in it a few minutes later, and tried to open Vegas, only to encounter the problem. It was minutes and absolutely nothing (that I know of) had changed.

  What could be causing it and is there a way to fix this?
