Front Mic
Hey Guys,
Having a sudden strange problem with audio on my 2700. Im afraid the onboard stereo mic itself may be having a problem because i think i have been through all the settings but i didn’t have any kind of physical incident so im hesitant to believe that. It feels like a settings problem, but i can’t find anything suspicious in the menus.Im getting no audio through the front mic. The level meters read 0. The mic was working perfectly the last time the camera was used, but i did allow a dp to do a camera test in between. He assures me all he did was put his lens on, and there was no mic mishap.
-I have the physical audio in switches set to front on 3 and 4. (i usually put the onboard to 3/4 when i have lavs so i can control the lav levels, unless i have a sound recordist)
-ive tried reversing them in case it is channel specific problem
-I confirmed that front audio port it powered in the menu “mic/audio1”
-the dip switch is firmly in stereo mode on the mic/ tried mono….
-tried the levels turned up and on “auto”
-tried initializing the camera back to “factory data” to reset anything i didn’t see…
-fed my 416 through the rear ports to confirm that phantom was operating and audio could be recorded to cards…
-checked the db levels in the menu for front and rear mic/line level settngs which appear to be normal and only adjustable b/t 50db and 60db…im running out of ideas. i feel like it is right in front of my face and im due for the ahha moment, but i don’t see it and i would like the onboard mic today….
