I have a client who works in Vegas. I work with FCP. He gives me .mov files to work with to produce DVDs. Should he give me NTSV DV .mov files to edit with? I won’t have to to re render these files when I bring them into my timeline?

Good question… I’ll wager that the DV codec used in the Vegas system isn’t compatible (might ask in the Vegas forum here at the COW), but a tape would be… you just recapture the DV that way.

I’d ask for uncompressed quicktimes then use media manager to dumb it down (or up) to whatever codec you’re working on.
