    Hi friends,
    i’m upgrading my editing system from FCP 6 to FCP 7 (studio 3).
    having several projects not closed yet, and having used internal plugins/Ccorrection filters only, i’m wondering in all my projects will be chenged when opened in 7..will i have to re-color the whole stuff? will be something mising? i’m a little frightened..

    You shouldn’t have a problem. Check the specs (Hardware) before updating and make a clean install (separate disc, new OSX, everything from scratch, copy the FCP files, leave the existing FCP6 files untouched)

    i was wondering to completely uninstall Pro 6 (studio 2) and start a brand new installing of 7..

    The best practice is to buy a new hard drive and do the whole operating system and application install from scratch. Then run Software Update (2 or 3 times until everything is up to date). This way you won’t run into any problems with any lingering parts of the old application.

    Doing a fresh re-install is also very good for the soul.
