    Howdy all,

Currently I am working on my first cinema 4d Project. I created some clouds in Illustrator ( see below) and I would like to make them 3d within cinema 4d. If it is easier to create something similar within 4d, then any tips in the right direction would be appreciated.

I specifically would like to have some insight into how the workflow works. If possible, also how to keep that illustrated look.

    Thanks for the help!

If you’re a Cineversity member (free if you have a Maxon maintenance agreement) you can use CVArtSmart to import your illustrator artwork and extrude it. https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaylist/cineversity_resources/artsmart_overview

Otherwise you can save your .ai file as an Illustrator 8 file and then open it in Cinema. That will bring in the artwork as splines which you can then extrude in cinema.

To get the same look you would use materials with the luminence channels (only) active.
