Adobe has been pushing the interoperability with FCP and Avid to Premiere. If you can take an XML from FCP into Premiere, can you then kick out an AAF and send that to Avid (Or Visa Versa)? It’d be a round-about process, but no more round-about than using Automatic Duck as your intermediary. Just interested in knowing if anyone has tried this.

Yes you can do that and it works. Export an XML from Final Cut, import into Premiere, then export an AAF file into Avid. You can also do the reverse. Premiere CS5 now has the ability to export Final Cut Pro XML files, so you can bring in your Avid project, and export it to FCP through Premiere CS5.
