if Wes is around…or anyone with some user experience with this..

if i take a video OMf from Avid Dv Xpress, and using AD take it into FCP, is the quality of the DV image as good as if i had just digitised the same Dv into FCp?

I ask because i have just digitised a guide film for a programme that was cut in Xpress DV, in order to online in FCP. I have used an EDl from the avid to recapture the DV straight into FCp, and the guide that was run off the avid doesnt seem as good quailty as the dv i just captured? Is it just an Avid low quailty setting that can be changed?

I will be getting AD soon, and want to check it is highest quality way to go.

    any thoughts?

I think the Avid DV codec is different to the FCP DV codec.

    Cheers
