freezing the last frame of rolling text
I’ve created a text roll of bulleted text in PPro 1.5’s Titler. I’ve made it super long on the timeline so that it scrolls really slowly, giving the viewer a chance to read the information. I’d like for the final bullet point to stop rolling and just be stationary mid-screen for a few seconds and then fade out. I tried razor cutting that frame, right clicking and putting a frame hold on it and thinking I’d just “extend” it to stay on screen as long as I want. For some reason, as soon as I cut the clip, the frame becomes black (instead of showing the text). Putting a framehold on the out point makes the entire roll stationary. Any suggestions?

I’d suggest making a new stationary title showing the end title as you want it – drop it in the timeline in a track above your scrolling title….if you get the cut right from your scroll to the end title it should scroll then hold OK, then apply the fade to your new stationary title clip. Granted it’s a workaround, but it should, at least, do the trick.

Make sure you don’t set the title to end off screen. Put a second copy of the title on the track right after the first. Set the Frame Hold to End Point on the second copy of the title, not the first.

Hey you guys–thanks for the great suggestions. I actually ended up setting the roll options to have a “post roll” of 90 frames, so the text roll stops moving, and then stays on screen for the few seconds I was looking for before fading out.
