I’m trying to capture video from a dvc pro machine with a firewire card. I’m using premiere pro 1.5 on a pentium 4 3.2 gig processor. This is what happens: I capture two or three clips just fine. Then, during the third or fourth, the video freezes on the screen and the counter stops. Everything associated with Premiere stops functioning. Windows still works but I can’t do anything in Premiere. If I close down the capture window, there’s a slight change in its appearance but it never goes away. If I just ctrl+alt+del, shut down the program, and restart it, it doesn’t function very well. It’s very slow. So I have to shut down my computer and reboot. Then I can capture a few clips again before this all happens again. This happens whether I’m remoting the machine or capturing manually. I believe it also happens when I’m using my mini dv camera, too, so I don’t think it’s the machine. I’ve used different firewire cables, too. Can anyone help?
