  • Freeze Transforms / Switch Axis Orientation/ RESET pivot to ZERO (like in maya)

    Hello,

IN Maya I simply press “freeze transformations” to change my axis orientation back to world zero.

in C4D it doesn’t quite work that way. I have to select all the polygon faces and then I am given the option to change the orientation

Is there ANY way to reset the pivot of any object to world zero?

Take a look at the image, I would like to have the football as it is, and then reset the pivot back to world zero.

Also, how can I center a pivot to an object?

You don’t have to be in polygon mode to freeze your transformations in Cinema 4D. It works exactly like it does in Maya.

In the attribute manager, go to the coordinates tab and there’s a whole freeze transformations section.

Hey! Thank you for the reply! When I do this, the axis doesn’t change, It only zeros out the numbers, no change to the object or the axis. I ended up having to bring the object into Maya and adjust it until its perfectly straight, centering pivot, freezing transformations. I just can’t get it to work in C4D (image is out of maya)

if I understand correctly, I may not, but what you want to do is select geo, press ‘L’, which activates pivot mode, then either use the gizmo or the co-ordinates manager to alter the pivots transforms. Then press ‘L’ again to turn off pivot mode. Then freeze transforms after.

It sounds like you’re looking for the Center Axis To… command in C4D.
