What is the best way to freeze-frame a video image in Vegas?

I’ve been inserting a velocity envelope to the video, then slowing it down to 3% (lowest it goes until it “reverses”), but sometimes this still skips a frame in verrrrry slow motion.

How would you suddenly freeze frame a moving image, and hold it for a few seconds?

I use the velocity envelope and still think it’s the best way. However, you need to change it to ZERO percent. To do that, right-click the velocity point, choose “Set to…” and type in “0” in the box. You definitely don’t want “3%” as that’s not really freeze frame.

you can also make a still of the video. somewhere near the preview window there is an option to make a still. easier and more percise than the volocity thing.
